Dear visitor,
this website collects personal data voluntarily provided in order to receive information, through the forms available in the "Contacts" section.
Simply browsing the website does not involve the provision of any personal data, with the exception of data collected through cookies, for which please refer to the relevant section.
The Italian Charlemagne Foundation for Humanitarian Purposes is committed to requesting only the data strictly necessary to fulfil the processing purposes described below, and to complying with the principles of fairness, lawfulness, transparency and confidentiality required by current data protection legislation.

ORIGIN OF DATA AND CATEGORIES OF DATA PROCESSED

The data subject to processing are classified by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as identifying data and consist of: first name, last name and contact email address, provided by you when completing the forms in the "Contacts" section, the mandatory nature of which complies with the minimisation principle in relation to the purpose of collection. Requests are reserved for adults only.

INFORMATION COLLECTED DURING WEBSITE BROWSING – COOKIES

For a full description of cookies, please refer to the Cookie Policy. The website uses session cookies that facilitate browsing and are deleted at the end of the session, and Google Analytics configured to collect anonymised data on page visits for aggregate statistics that enable analysis of certain aspects of website browsing (for example, the most visited pages).

PURPOSES OF PROCESSING AND LEGAL BASIS

The Data Controller processes your personal data as indicated above for the purposes set out below, in accordance with the legal bases referred to in the GDPR and specified alongside each purpose.
a) To respond to specific requests from website visitors (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b)), such as requests for information;
b) To pursue the legitimate interest of the Data Controller (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(f)). By way of example and without limitation:

  • the security and protection of its information systems and website;
  • statistical analysis of visits and most visited pages;
  • responding to requests from competent authorities.

The Data Controller does not carry out any automated decision-making processes, including profiling as referred to in Art. 22, paragraphs 2 and 4 of EU Regulation No. 2016/679.

 

MANDATORY NATURE OF DATA PROVISION

The provision of personal data, appropriately minimised through the collection forms in the "Contacts" section, is mandatory; failure to provide such data makes it impossible to respond to the information request.

LOCATION AND METHODS OF DATA PROCESSING

Your data are processed within Italian territory. The website is managed through the hosting service of Aruba S.p.a., with servers located in Italy. All operations — collection, processing, consultation, printing, archiving, modification, updating — may be carried out by electronic means or on paper.

DATA DISCLOSURE

Your personal data may be shared only with our collaborators, duly appointed as Data Processors, and with employees within the scope of their respective duties; they may also be shared with all parties whose right of access to such data is recognised by regulatory provisions.
The list of external Data Processors with further identification details is available from the Data Controller. Personal data will not be disseminated or transferred to countries outside the EU.

DATA RETENTION PERIOD

Data collected for contact purposes will be retained for the exchange of information and will be deleted no later than 24 months from the last contact with the Data Controller.

DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS

You have the right, pursuant to Art. 15 of the GDPR, to request access to your personal data (i.e. the right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether or not your personal data are being processed and, if so, to obtain access to your personal data, including a copy thereof and information relating to their processing).
You may likewise request rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) or erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), or you may object on legitimate grounds to a specific processing of your data (Art. 21 GDPR).
You have the right, pursuant to Art. 20 of the Regulation, to data portability: you may request that your personal data be provided to you in a commonly used electronic format so that you may share them with other parties of your choosing.
